This is a story about how progress and how it affects tradition.
Each generation believes that they're greater than their
predecessors, taking prior knowledge and expanding and improving
with time. With advancements in some areas comes costs in others.
At the time of this story, steam engines had been created and
utilized, creating heat and burning coal. While we had improved
society for ourselves, we had also started longrunning heavy polution.
This song is centralized around the idea of seeing people as scarecrows.
While they appear to hold power in what they do, scaring crows away, they
don't actually hold any threat or danger to the birds. Most of their
strength comes with what symbolism they hold and not the stuffed humanoid
figure that lies behind it.
Anthem to the Edge of the Earth is about having the strength to do what
should de done to improve the world despite opposition. In some instances
you might have to go to the edge of the earth to get heard.
